Christmas
Gifts
What is the best Christmas gift ever?
The best gift to get is one yolu've been after for a long time and haven't
been able to buy yourself, whether thats because it was too expensive,
too frivolous, or it was just not available near you to buy!
What if you get a Christmas present that you really don't like? Should
you say something? Not at all. You should always find something nice to
say about whatever you're given. Pick one aspect of it to say something
about. Such as the colour, size, model, ... just find something nice to
say and then say Thank You!
How do you decide what budget to spend. You have to look at your own
finances and decide how much you can afford to spend. I'd avoid going
into debt for Christmas but I know some people think that a little excess
is ok. If you save up through the year you'll find that you might be able
to have a better Christmas than you thought.
Buying the right gift is hard sometimes. What are good fall backs? Chocolates,
wine and flowers.
Some people gift wrap a few extra boxes of chocolates and keep them handy
in case stray guests turn up and you've not planned to buy them anything
you can just give them a standby present.
Hard to buy for friends and relatives can be a real headache during the
festive season. Why not consider buying them a Personalised
Gift? There’s a massive range of great pressie ideas including
calendars, wine, and hobby / interest specific Xmas gift ideas.
Put the presents under the tree. If you theme your wrapping papers it
can look amazing.
Or just a casual mix of all sorts of wrapping paper is just fine!
Deciding what to buy can be solved by either asking what people would
like or making copious notes through the year and listening to people.
Asking them to write a gift list for their birthday way before christmas
can be a good way of finding out what they would like!
Encourage people to keep lists of books they'd like to be bought - this
is always handy for sharing with aunts and uncles who want to buy a present
but don't know what you'd like!
Sometimes a favourite gift can be something you'd like to school or college
or even for work. Look at people's hobbies for ideas on what they'd like
to be getting. Do they need a new item for sport they play? Do they need
some new computer equipment?
Always look at money and vouchers as a last resort. They take very little
imagination although they do allow people who change their mind frequently
to go and pick their own gift without you being so behind the times as
they've changed their mind on their favourite pop group for the twelfth
time this week.
Buying the right vouchers is also important. If someone has a mp3 player
and uses itunes then an itunes voucher will be a great idea. Book vouchers
are perfect for those who love books and will give them many hours of
pleasure as they pick out what they want to spend them on.
Activity gift vouchers are great for those who like getting out and about
and there's a huge range of activities these days including lots of quiet
persuits too like dining, wine tasting and trips on steam trains as well
as the more traditional adrenaline packed activities like bungee jumping
or racing car driving.
