Table Decorations
Pine Cone Christmas - You'll need to collect some pine
cones, holly, bit of modelling clay and a candle plus get some gold and
silver spray and some fine wire or string. Ask at the florist for a single
piece of wire and they might give it you free.
Tie the wire round the Bottom of the cones and fix them together - arrange
them so they all face out. Add some holly if you have some.
Make a small base for a candle and fix the cones to this soi that the
candle will site in the middle. You'll know how much space to leave depending
on the candles you have.Once you've got it how you want it then spray
gold or silver - or even leave it plain if you like.
You can obviosuly add ribbons and other christmas bits to this. Using
florist wire helps things stay fixed easily as it is flexible yet stiff.
Christmas Log - you'll need a small piece of log - an
outside bit with a bit of a branch sticking out might look great, its
got to be steady so get a flat bottomed piece or trim the bit you have.
You need plaster of paris, holly, sprays, candle (red looks particularly
festive)
Mix the plaster to a thick consistency and pour it over the log to give
the look of snow - as its sets press in the candle and holly and other
items.
Chains - cut strips of coloured paper stick the ends
to make loops and build themtogether to make a chain.
Save old christmas cards to cut up for making things with -
Christmas Balls - cut circles from old christmas cards
and mark out a triangle inside
Cut out lots of circles and fold the edges to make this shape. Then
glue sides together to make a ball. Hang with glittery string. You can
vary the size of the ball by cutting bigger circles.
You could cut out of plain coloured card if you don't have old christmas
cards.
Peg Doll Fairy - you'll need an old fashioned wooden
peg, some pens and silver/white materials. Make a twirly fairy skirt,
paint or draw a face on, add yellow wool for hair and cut some white wings
out!
