Christmas
Activities
?You know Christmas is approaching when the shops start to advertise advent
calendars, coffee shops bring out festive creamy lattes and of course,
you receive a letter addressed to Santa from your kids. But after buying
everyone's gift, you may feel like you ought to tighten your purse strings
a little.
So if you are browsing various Christmas sites in search of stocking
fillers and Christmas themed recipes, while you play partypoker pl
and order your Christmas turkey, why not bring the festive spirit into
your home by surprising your family with some fun activities, which won't
break the bank.
Transform your home into a winter wonderland – Why not sit down
as a family and enjoy an arts and crafts afternoon together by making
your very own festive wonderland in your front room? Begin by buying a
few bags of cotton wool, some glitter and some felt. Stretch out the cotton
wool and lie it across your mantelpiece, or place it in the corners of
your windows. Sprinkle the wool with some silver glitter for an extra
touch, before cutting out some holly leaves and berry shapes in the felt
and burying them within the woolly snow.
Advent Hunt – Your children are sure to be excited about opening
a new window in their advent calendar and enjoying a small chocolate,
so why not take this one step further by turning it into an Advent Hunt?
Find some spare envelopes and label them 1-25. Within each envelope, place
a small treat, such as a lollipop or a small toy, and hide the envelopes
around the house. Challenge your children to find all 25 envelopes before
Christmas so they can enjoy all of their little presents.
Alternatively, if you and your partner are celebrating your first Christmas
together in your new home, why not write romantic compliments on 25 sticky
notes and hide them around the house for them to find in the run up to
Christmas. It is a romantic and fun gesture, especially when a note pops
up at the bottom of the biscuit tin or is hidden within the CD case of
their favourite album. ?
