Christmas
Freebies and free stuff for the christmas holidays
The spirit of Christmas is important. Reminding each other than Christmas
is more than just getting presents. We celebrate Christmas each year to
celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we learn the nativity at school perform
it as a play to our proud parents and enjoy everything that Christmas
can offer.
Spending time with family, eating a special Christmas dinner to which
everyone is invited, eating mince pies, enjoying a slice of rich iced
Christmas cake. Opening presents, watching the Queen's Speech, being too
full to move, watching the lights on the Christmas tree.
Whatever Christmas means to you, we hope to save you some money this
year by showing you how to make your own Christmas decorations, giving
you inspiration to make your own Christmas cards and deciding exactly
what to buy everyone for Christmas.
We'd like to help you out - so please email in your questions about savijng
money at Christmas.
What time do you open your presents? Do you open them immediately you
get up? Do you expect them to be hung at the end of the bed waiting for
you? Some people are very restrained and wait until after lunch before
ripping open that wrapping paper. Some even wait til after the Queen's
speech. Whatever you do, enjoy opening them. Make it last longer by everyone
taking it in turns to open a present. This makes sense if everyone has
the same number of presents, else someone will sit there twiddling them
thumbs whilst everyone else is still opening their presents.
How much you spend on presents is up for debate. DO you spend a lot,
or a little/? Make sure you make a sensible, realistic budget and stick
to it. There's no point going mad and spending too much and then spending
until next Christmas paying it back.
Simple gifts can often be the most fun. This is especially true for young
children where expensive toys just aren't needed.

Some people decorate the outside of their house so that it looks like
a Christmas tree! This is pretty to look at and some towns now list their
best house displays so people can visit them to admire.

One of the favourite visitors to the garden because of it's cheerful
red breast! The robin is featured on many Christmas cards!
